RAIN BARRELS

It is time to start thinking about rain and rain catchment systems. You can save a lot of money by installing one or two rain barrels. Once you get two in tandem going it is not too long before the idea of gravity feed can come into play. Rain barrels can be stacked to create more water pressure. You could fill a washer or a toilet if you rigged them right. Water would have to be filtered and purified for drinking.

Check Your Usage…

It’s staggering to see the  amount of water used for
normal daily activities.  The items listed in green below could be supplemented with rain water, depending on how hard you’re willing to work…

…with some planning,
some things are not as hard as you’d think!

Awesome! I am impressed with your system. And I thought I was being innovative when I moved the washing machine to the back porch to automatically water my garden via a few well placed trenches. Many people don’t know that plants love soapy water…and water left over from boiling vegetables and eggs and dishwater. In fact, if I were a plummer I have everything except the toilet watering my ground. whahaha!
